*Network Engineer*
*Location: San Diego, CA*
*Duration : 12 Months*
*Network Engineer :*
· Design and Architect solutions for network connectivity and 24x7
operations.
· At least 9+ years of experience in IT Networking. Proven track
record of full-time, hands-on networking experience.
· *Implement solutions from project start to finish – a solid body
of prior work with network hardware.*
· Able to analyze internal and external customer requirements in
order to determine business needs and come up with a design.
· Daily operational support of onsite and remote enterprise network
(both campus and data center environments).
· Interface and manage vendor interactions for hardware and
services provided.
· *Work with providers/telcos for services and escalation of
issues.*
· Review and recommend innovative changes to improve network
performance.
· Thorough understanding of *IP subnetting and the OSI model*.
· CCIE/JNCIE network certification preferred along with experience
with data protocols, standards, addressing, routing, switching and data
security.
· *Experience with Cisco devices, specifically Cisco routers &
switches (ISRs, Nexus, 2900/3900 routers) and Cisco ASA firewalls. This
includes technologies including VLANs, trunking, T1/DS1, MPLS, BGP, OSPF,
NAT, DHCP, DNS, NTP, HSRP/VRRP*.
· *Experience with Juniper and Junos ERX/MX/T series desired*
· Understanding of firewall security policies involving objects,
rules, NATs, inspection policies, etc. Checkpoint and/or Palo Alto
experience is a plus.
· *Knowledge of load balancers (preferably A10), their function and
the manner in which they are integrated into the network infrastructure is
a must.*
· Strong attention to detail along with sharp analytical skills to
identify problems at the network, systems and application layers.
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in
writing with good spelling and grammar. Must be persuasive and able to
articulate technical details to non-technical individuals.
· Must be customer-service-minded and tactful when dealing with
customers. Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with customers, vendors, coworkers, employees and upper
management.
· Experience with diagnostic and *NMS applications such as sniffers
(Wireshark and/or Observer) and NetFlow or SNMP-based monitoring tools
(WhatsUp Gold) a plus. Experience documenting configurations, Visio maps,
operational procedures and manuals also a plus.*
· Scripting skills are a huge plus (Perl, Python, TCL, or a
combination of languages).
· Must have experience working in a large scale, dispersed,
networking and communications environment and maintaining continuity of
operations.
· *A Master’s Degree in computer systems or Telecommunication or
Electronics a plus*
