Our direct Client located in Newark, NJ is seeking a WebSphere Application
Developer for a Contract to Hire opportunity. Consultant will lead the
effort to rewrite our New Business application for the Internet.  In
addition, the consultant will cover enhancements, routine maintenance and
production support activities for both the existing New Business
application and the rewritten application post-implementation.


*Responsibilities:*

   - This individual will become part of a team supporting the information
   technology requirements of the Mutual Funds business.
   - Reporting to a Director of Systems Development, responsible for
   systems analysis and design, application development, routine maintenance
   and production support.
   - Provides technical consulting and leadership in identifying and
   implementing new uses of information technologies which assist the business
   functions in meeting their strategic objectives.
   - Acts as an expert technical resource to development staff for all
   phases of the systems development life cycle.
   - May lead teams or projects. Performs other related duties as assigned
   or requested.


*Required Skills:*

   - Minimum 7-10 years' experience in software development.
   - 5-7 years' hands on experience developing n-tier applications for
   internal and external audiences with Java, J2EE and WebSphere.
   - Strong web development skills including HTML, CSS, Javascript (jQuery)
   and XML/XSL.
   - Strong database design and development skills using Microsoft SQL
   Server.
   - Experience with portal server technology (e.g. WebSphere Portal
   Server) preferred.
   - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
   - Able to work equally well independently and in a team environment.
   - Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting all project
   commitments.
   - Experience with financial services applications preferred.
   - Knowledge of mutual funds business a plus.
