Position:  System Administrator
Location:  Charlotte, NC
Duration:  6 Months

Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide enterprise systems stability and
availability through proactive monitoring and management for the benefit
IT's business partners and customers.

The incumbent is required to have 4 years of experience:
. operate based on an understanding of the business environment and the
objective to assure business success,
. execute the plans and support the designs and processes which support
core IT computer operations functions,
. determine and exercise corrective actions for emergency situations,
. collaborate, share information with, and coordinate efforts with other
team members,
. demonstrate requisite knowledge and skills for the above within six
months of hire or promotion, and
. work the shift hours and schedule required to support the enterprise.

The OCC System Administrator (OSA) I - will work as part of a technical
support team to:
. ensure the day-to-day availability of the production, development, and
test systems,
. monitor enterprise systems,
. troubleshoot and manage incidents and problems as far as possible,
. develop/document/implement processes and technical solutions,
. assess the impact of and consult on low, medium, and high risk production
system changes,
. support/implement/ changes/upgrades/maintenance,
. conduct trend analysis with a focus on proactive identification of
events/issues that threaten performance and a consistent & timely
resolution and documentation,
. analyze system performance indicators and recommend improvement actions,
. assist disaster recovery activities,
. create and review technical system processes and recovery plans, and
. make proactive suggestions for service improvements.

The OCC System Administrator (OSA) I - will also:
. perform level I system administrative functions initially on Windows
server platforms,
. strengthen their skills, and
. expand their skills and responsibilities to two or more platforms or
disciplines, including networking, UNIX, storage, database, security,
virtual, mainframe/Multiple Virtual Storage (MVS), etc.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in computer science, engineering, or
related field is highly preferred.  At minimum, the prospective system
administrator should possess proficiency and three or more years experience
system administrating Windows servers in large scale data center
environments.
Technical skills and experience in the following domains:
.systems monitoring, management, and administration of Microsoft enterprise
business products such as Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL Server,
etc.
. knowledge and understanding of modern networking, security, and storage
technologies and processes sufficient to support server administration and
troubleshooting,
. virtual servers (Microsoft Virtual Server, VMware, Citrix, etc.), and
. structured analyses, project management, and communication of information
via tools such as Microsoft Visio, Excel, Word Project, Access, PowerPoint,
SharePoint, etc.

Required Certifications:
 .Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related
field.  One or more of the following certifications or the equivalent:
MCSA/MCSE Enterprise Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/Cloud, MCITP Enterprise
Windows Server 2008/Virtualization, A+, Network+, CCNA, etc.
