*Title: Build/Release Engineer with Chef or PuppetOakland, CAJob Duration: 6 contract (possible extension)Top skills: Java, Ant/Maven, Chef or Puppet* *Duties:* Ensure compilation, assembly and delivery of source code is executed with precision. Focus on designing systems to build, package and deploy software that impacts millions of users. Use knowledge of Linux and Web Technologies to tweak configuration for optimal performance. Use knowledge of source code repository administration (Git/SVN) along with build tools to deploy applications on different technology stacks using Chef. *Requirements:* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field followed by 3-5 years progressive post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or computer related occupation. Experience must include: Experience designing systems to build, package and deploy software. Building RPMs and applications on Java, Scala and NodeJS. Source code repository administration (Git and/or SVN). Experience with software build tools such as Make, Ant, Maven and SBT. Scripting language skills on the Linux platform: Bash Shell, Python and Perl. Three or more years experience creating software builds and release related dashboards, targeted for the Linux (RHEL or derivative) platform. Experience setting up continuous builds and continuous deployment tools like Hudson/Jenkins, TeamCity or others on the Linux platform. Experience with Chef, Puppet, or any other software configuration management tool.
