*Job details- CRAN Network Engineer * *Location: Mount Laurel, NJ* *Duration: 1 year contract * Position Background: The NE&TO Network Engineer-3 will primarily be responsible for the infrastructure and core routing design of Divisional CRAN network requirements. Additional duties will include advanced performance engineering, real time analysis and optimization of the existing Converged Regional Area Network (CRAN). The CRAN combines the following services – data, voice, and video - onto a single converged IP infrastructure. The Network Engineer-3 will interact with corporate, local and divisional management as necessary to provide support as needed on an ongoing basis. Job Responsibilities: Perform sustained engineering duties to support CRAN services - data, video, and voice products Create and document all high-level and detailed network designs Monitor network capacity, plan and implement market augments as needed Model network capacity for failure scenarios to proactively predict routing and topology changes Develop and/or improve best practices and procedures for network installation, maintenance and operation Develop and implement test and acceptance criteria for network elements Schedules equipment activations, customer-affecting network maintenance Exercise sound judgment during site design, network configuration, and network activation to ensure efficient use of funds and time Demonstrate leadership in the development and planning for the roll-out of future hardware and software versions of CRAN/Commercial network devices. Assist in efforts to automate internal processes/tools for departmental engineering tasks Provide operational escalation support all operations related escalations, including periodic On-Call support focused on isolating and resolving network outages Participate in assigned interdepartmental technical projects Build relationships with assigned markets through regular communication and site visits Communicate applicable design guidelines and provide guidance to markets to ensure compliance Education and Experience: BS degree required in Information Technology or other technology related field 5-8 years of hands-on IP router/switch/telephony customer premises equipment experience in IT design and support. Understanding of the high level design criteria for managing a large data/voice communications networks in a decentralized environment CCNP/JNCIP or CCIE/JNCIE certified or equivalent on-the-job experience preferred Strong scripting skills preferred: Unix, Perl, PHP, Python and MySQL Solid understanding of IP routing and switching (OSPF and BGP) Solid understanding of IPv4, Multicast and QOS. IPv6 experience a plus Knowledge of Frame Relay/MPLS/ISDN, etc. SIP / H.323 trunking a plus Extremely organized individual with the ability to manage multiple projects and participate on multiple project teams Solid business skills to effectively interact with internal business units and external vendors Experience dealing with telecom circuit providers a plus Additional experience in server based technology, such as Microsoft and Unix is a plus Thanks for your time & Consideration..
