Position Title: Java Developer Position Type: 6 month contract
Position Location: Chicago, IL *Please note that my client does an initial phone screen and then a mandatory in-person interview so if this person is chosen he/she must come to Chicago for an interview.* *Position Description:* *Seeking Java developer with the following skills and experience:* - Excellent in Core Java fundamentals - Excellent problem solving and design skills - Solid experience in web development, JavaScript and Ajax - Experience with using Tomcat or other Java Application Server for executing applications - Proficient in data retrieval and data parsing which follows defined message specifications. Experience with Tibco or other data delivery system a plus - Proficient in Oracle database SQL. - Strong ability to learn existing applications quickly and to be able to make modifications to them. - Ability to work independently. *Skills Required* 1. Core Java concepts – specifically how to handle objects, how to store java objects, concepts around data structures and collection framework, multi-threading concepts 2. Design patterns and problems solving – high level thinking 3. Web development and server side development. For example, they need to understand how to get data from front end to back end and messaging concepts. They would be expected to know very basic web development. Struts and Spring – nice to have not required by any means. AJAX –a nice to have • *Looking for a Core Java developer with basic design experience, threading, collections and OO programming* • Must have excellent problem solving skills • Must have worked with web based application services – they use tomcat but Weblogic would be OK • Looking for someone with knowledge of struts, JSPs, UI framework • This person should have experience with JavaScript and Ajax on the front side • JDBC is important • The application they are working on is a QA testing application. The QA testers test the Globex infrastructure.
