Role: Hadoop Administrator Location: California-Pleasanton
Duration: 1+ Year Technical screening/f2f *Responsibilities:* - Technical expert on the project/ release team; responsible for the technical success of the project - Responsible for technical architecture, logical and physical design of the solution of the hadoop platform - Responsible for administration, installing, upgrading and managing distributions of Hadoop , Hive, Hbase, Flume on AWS - Responsible for creating scripts, implementing tools that can make the big data platform more stable - Advanced knowledge in performance troubleshooting and tuning Hadoop clusters. - Work together with networking, security, and hardware team - Prototyping of new solution components, software engineering and integrating with other 3rd party tools - Work with the Architecture and Digital Strategy teams within Digital Health Technology teams to research new technology and development approaches and create best practices around them. - Interacting with the business users / Program Management office, when needed. - Takes ownership of escalated issues - Provide 3rd level support for project development issues *Basic Qualifications and skills:* This position requires a results-oriented self-starter who can effectively navigate a large organization. The following basic qualifications and skills are required: - Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent experience - 2-3 years production experience with managing Hadoop and related systems including distributed systems and data management - Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of the entire Hadoop stack including core Hadoop (HDFS and Map Reduce), Flume and Sqoop, HBase and Zookeeper, Oozie, Hive and Pig - Working knowledge of data ingestion pipeline design, Hadoop information architecture, data modeling and data mining, machine learning and advanced data processing - Experience in deploying monitoring and management for Hadoop clusters - 7-10 years of experience in development, engineering management and operations including including web and application servers, distributed logging, enterprise message busses and enterprise security systems. - The candidate must be able to engage in solving complex problems. Programming problems are a good example - 5 years of Java programming. - Advanced knowledge of SQL knowledge a must. Good to have advanced data warehousing and MPP knowledge but it's not a must have - Expert knowledge of Unix shell scripting with Linux flavored OS - Expert Linux knowledge is a must. Understanding of shell, debugging things etc. The candidate should be able to get their way around Linux and get things to work. - Advanced knowledge networking and hardware required. - The candidate must be able to think at a high level about the overall systems and goals of the customer.
