SQL Developer/DBA *EAD GC, GC or USC ONLY* *St Louis MO* *6-12 Contract* *Responsibilities* • Working within a team of database resources - physical database application design, database code (pl/sql), and capacity planning with potential additional tasks with database object creation, deployment, data management, performance tuning, database security. Support production application database functionality. • Works with project team to gather database structure change information. Actively uses this information to build, test, and deploy database change scripts. • Consults with Data Architecture and Data Modelers to design correct physical database implementation. • Provides supplemental technical expertise, to application and warehouse development teams, to design develop, tune and implement optimized application objects and structures according to project requirements. • ? Builds conversion/migration procedures when structural changes demand. May also develop pl/sql code for triggers, packages, and functions to support the project requirements. • Identifies deployment dependencies between development team code-base. • Maintain regular and predictable attendance. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • 5-7 years of experience in SQL Development or Database Administration and Development. • Advanced SQL Development skills; including analysis, design, implementation, and tuning. • Experience using coding languages. • Competent project management skills. Demonstrates an ability to evaluate project objectives and scope for feasibility, understanding, scheduling, and ensure projects meet budget and plan criteria. • Advanced interpersonal skills. • Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into systems’ design and technical solutions. • Highly advanced knowledge of structured and object oriented programming, relational database design, operating systems, networking concepts, and systems integration. • Complex analytical and problem-solving skills. • Advanced oral and written communication skills. • Ability to work well within and lead a team environment. Technical Skills • Oracle DBMS • - Oracle Administration(OEM) • - Database Partitioning • - Database resource management (ORM) • - PL/SQL • - Windows Infrastructure • - Microsoft Team Foundation services (TFS) Preferred • 5+ to 7+ years of experience in SQL Development within Oracle including script and database tuning • Exposure to database administration and management. • Experience working in iterative or agile development projects. • Insurance industry knowledge. • Reinsurance industry knowledge.
