Job Title: System Engineer Location: Washington, DC Duration: 6+ Months Contract to hire *EAD, GC, US Citizen Only! Interview: Face to Face After Phone* The Sr. System Engineer will communicate with architects, staff or clients to understand specific system requirements to assist in the project design and ultimately be responsible for the implementation and support. He/she will verify and document the stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture and provide technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of systems. Systems Engineer will perform on-going hardware and software maintenance operations, including installing or upgrading hardware or software as well as evaluate existing systems to determine effectiveness and suggest changes to meet organizational requirements. The Engineer will serve as the escalation point for systems administrators and train system administrators in system/application operation and maintenance. Plans, designs and deploys large scale complex systems, including enterprise infrastructure, information systems, ERP applications, and internet technologies. Projects typically involve on both software and hardware components. Evaluates existing systems to understand capabilities and recommend solutions. Works with non-technical business owners to understand needs and develops a technical solution. Participates in the layout design and installation of new systems or modification of existing systems. Develops and manages systems integration projects. Identifies and resolves existing system deficiencies.
