Please)* Job Title : *DB2 DBA *Location : Union, NJ Duration : 3-6 months Contract *******Must be US citizen , Greencard holder Or EAD******* *Key responsibilities:* Perform day-to-day DB2 administrative tasks. Monitor DB2 processes and logs for any anomalies, provide corrective actions. Work closely with the AIX Administration team to install DB2, apply latest fixpacks, create databases, and perform database upgrades. Conduct capacity planning and projection. Provide space requirements to the AIX administrators for creating table spaces. Maintain DB2 Variable values (registry values, environment values, configuration parameters. Create tables, indexes, views and other database objects. Define schemas, users and security policies. Perform Exports/Imports/Loads of data. Assist with SQL scripts needed for planning DB2 applications, create and maintain shell scripts to automate tasks. Perform DB2 tuning, including optimizing complex SQL statements, for best possible performance. Provide assistance to developers for resolving technical DB2 issues, document and implement DB2 best practices on AIX. Create procedures & guidelines for Operations for monitoring DB2 batch jobs (including error notification). Interface with business analysts & developers with regards to application, logical & physical database design, create and maintain logical entity relationship diagrams, transform logical models into physical data models.
