Job Title: Sr. Automation Tester Locations: Richmond VA Duration : 6 months In Person Only Required Skills Will Include: · Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or IT or Engineering with relevant IT/Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience Required 7 Years · Testing including: functional end-to-end testing, system testing, user acceptance testing, and regression Required 5 Years · Various PM methodologies, including Agile methodologies and supporting techniques (e.g. Test Driven Development and continuous integration processes Required 5 Years · Automation tools – (Front End) Selenium-webdriver with Java or Selenium-webdriver/Watir-webdriver/Ruby , Microsoft CODEDUI or comparable tools Required 5 Years · Backend (BE) DB layer testing and developing automation suites for performing ETL testing, BE of DB design, procedures, prgs etc. (SSIS or comparable Required 5 Years · Designing and implementing automation suites from scratch using tools above to augment into the testing cycles Required 4 Years · Webservices testing – (Service layer - Restfull and SOAP) and expertise in automating them Required 2 Years · Working on an Agile team Required 3Years *Complete Description* One resource with 7 + years of experience in the following: Overall Responsibilities · Requires thorough technical, analytical and operational knowledge within the QA area of accountability with specific responsibilities for design, development and implementation of test strategies. · Requires extensive technical experience: ability to read architectural diagrams, design review and system documentation, review end-to-end workflows (technical/business), participate in code reviews and utilize the information to create quality solutions. · Responsible for performing and leading the integration, system, and regression testing of software for both manual and automated test execution. · Responsible for sprint deliverables and implementing Test Driven Development each sprint to achieve the sprint testing goals. · Specific Responsibilities · Interact with the product delivery team; participate in product requirement/design reviews to provide input on completeness of functional requirements, product designs, and schedules · Identify interdependencies, ambiguities or omissions, and make suggestions to improve requirements and ensure usability/testability · Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, with focus to mitigate risks · Review test schedules in accordance with project scope and delivery expectations · Participate in designing test strategies, scenarios, scripts, and/or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness · Develop testing scenarios/cases to address areas of database, web interface, web services, software code and programs written, regression testing, usability and develop automated scripts · Perform Test Execution; collaborate with other testers during test execution · Perform initial debugging procedures by reviewing code pieces to determine breakdown source; coordinate activities with overall development team, monitoring and reporting on problem resolution · Adhere to defect tracking process; document software defects, monitor the progress in a timely manner, escalate aging and priority defects · Document test procedures to ensure repeatability and compliance with standards · Collect and report test results through various metrics reporting tools and communicating to key stakeholders on a regular basis. · Manage Test Driven Development coordinating work with development team for timely delivery for testing for each sprint. · Assess readiness and deviation of project performance based on risks and the test results. · Provides the department with in-depth system knowledge, product and service related expertise and excellent analytical skills · Identify areas for Test Automation and provide design prototypes for the automation suite based on tool specified above. · Ability to extend prototypes and implement the automation suite across all test environments · Ability to strategize and implement test automation on the database layer of the application Preferred Qualifications: · 7 years experience performing Quality Assurance functions with demonstrated experience in Software Development Lifecycle. · Ability to share and communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to staff, business customers, managers, and technical resources in clear concise language that is appropriate to the target audience · Experience working in ambiguous situations, dealing with IT issues and coming up with effective solutions to ensure project deliverables on time and within budget. · Experience with a variety of test tools and software testing practices, including developing, implementing, maintaining and managing manual/automated testing systems and environments · Experience assessing risk for determining appropriate levels of testing · Strong collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills · Ability to handle multiple large projects simultaneously for executing test cases and reporting results. · Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team. · Work experience using automated testing tools and using them to develop regression suites. · Experience in SQL, ORACLE (preferred),.NET, XML, HTML, MS Access, Windows, UNIX shell scripting. NOTE: This position requires extensive coding abilities to develop automation suites for various applications under test. The candidate would have a mix of 25% of responsibilities specified above in areas of QA and testing and the rest 75% being building and deploying automation suites.
