POSITION:Director, Data Strategy Program(Consultant) LOCATION: EMERYVILLE, CA
DURATION: 16-18 Months START DATE: Mid-October 2015 *You must have 10+ years of program/project management experience with solid experience in Data Warehousing. Healthcare is required and you have worked with products like Epic, Cerner and Meditech.* *JOB SUMMARY: * *The Data Strategy Program Director will lead the program office for the strategic, high impact, data strategy program from inception through value realization. * *The Program Director will be fully accountable for all aspects of the program including: definition and management of the budget (up to $5M), all activities relating to objective and goal setting, roadmap development, solution architecture, program staffing and vendor sourcing, implementation planning and execution, and sustainment of the production environment once deployed. * *This is a high visibility role and the individual must be comfortable with navigating all levels of the organization to achieve the program’s objectives. Activities will range from working with corporate leadership in the definition of the program’s vision, objectives and roadmap to providing hands-on leadership to the program team and vendor partners who have responsibility for data acquisition, data warehousing and BI deliverables.* *PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:* *• Drive strategy and execution for all aspects of the Data Strategy program* *• Develop deep understanding of business objectives and key desired results relating to the program.* *• Direct program planning and execution throughout the program lifecycle* *• Lead program planning activities including managing organizational priorities, developing requirements and managing the program roadmap. * *• Drive delivery of all aspects of the program including data acquisition, data warehouse and analytics, BI and reporting deliverables.* *• Be responsible for program communications with Steering Committee and program stakeholders. Become an internal and external champion and evangelist for the program.* *• Provide day-to-day guidance to about 5 to 8 direct reports, who are responsible for solution architecture, data acquisition, data warehousing and BI activities.* *• Establish and provide oversight for vendor contracts for the outsourced program components in the data acquisition and data warehousing functions* *• Direct cross-functional teams, including marketing and site support teams to create and execute external site data acquisition strategy and to ensure usability and adoption of end user deliverables* *• Identify and track key program success metrics and utilize the metrics to make informed decisions* *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * *Formal Education & Certification* *• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent; MBA desired but not required* *• PMI certification preferred (PMP-Agile Certified Practitioner or PMP)* *Knowledge & Experience* *• 10+ years of project and program management experience, including significant experience with Data Warehousing projects.* *• Repeated success leading large programs (up to $10M) from inception through value realization, including at least 1 modern data warehouse custom development project* *• Past experience leading ongoing support and sustainment activities for an enterprise data warehouse* *• Demonstrated experience having taken full responsibility for all functional aspects of this program: data acquisition, data warehousing and BI / analytics. Past hands-on experience of leading a team comprised of a data architect, data, quality and BI analysts, engineers and data scientists.* *• Excellent presentation, oral and written communications skills; demonstrated success influencing without authority.* *• Previous experience developing and executing communications plans.
