The focus of the DevOps team is automation, innovation, and support. The DevOps Engineer role is versatile and creative. The ideal candidate will know how to think “outside-the-box” and will share in responsibilities for supporting the managing, provisioning, and configuration of large enterprise environments. This role is broad and will not be limited to a single technology platform but will also include working closely with application developers to handle rapid platform deployments and releases. *Responsibilities:* - Thinks outside the box and approaches infrastructure and storage solutions with modern techniques that are agile and scalable. - Coordinates meetings and communicates with non-technical staff on project requests. - Finds opportunities for streamlining processes through the use of technology to improve time-to-market of services. - Leads focused activities to migrate to higher availability and efficiency for critical environments. - Focused efforts on developing and streamlining automated installation and configuration procedures for the purpose of self-service provisioning using tools such as SCOM, Puppet and Chief. - Adheres to best practices and procedures for storage management through daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, storage resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. - Serves as an escalation point for investigation and troubleshooting storage related issues in production, QA and DEV environments. - Adheres with standards for operational, configuration, or other procedures. - Finds ways to automate and report metrics and analytics on the health of the storage and backup technologies. - Provides after hours on-call support. *Qualifications:* - 5 - 10 years of relevant technical experience in large, enterprise environments. - Highly experienced subject matter expertise with a broad skill set in at least several technologies, such as: Windows, Linux, virtualization, networking, storage and coder; combined with excellent planning, coordination and communication skills as well as the ability to think independently or as a team. - A DevOps openness to see problems or issues from various angles and a willingness to discuss and vet solutions until a common goal or idea is agreed upon. - Agile and able to adapt and adjust as required until the business needs are met. - Strong scripting/coding experience using Java, Python, PowerShell and other coding languages required to successfully create automation processes via service APIs. - Strong understanding of systems architecture from the application through the server stack. - Proven experience in creating successful designs, development and implementation of high availability systems, applications and related products. - Familiarity with agile project management techniques including Scrum and Lean processes for organizing, time management and meeting deadlines. - Ability to interpret complex technical information. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups SAP or Oracle Financials group.
