Role: Senior Network Consultant
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 6 months
*Resource can work from home but must live in the Boston area. Moderate
travel.*
*· Must be able to work on call one week out of every six weeks*
*· Must be willing to work flexible work hours and support a global
organization (meetings with colleagues in Europe, Asia, etc.) *
Senior Network Consultant
· Minimum 10 years of progressive data network experience in a
large, complex, fast paced environment; financial services and/or
telecom/Internet service provider experience preferred
· Bachelor degree in Information Technology, or equivalent
experience in conjunction with industry certifications (Cisco CCNP required
,CCIE certification preferred.)
· Senior IT professional with extensive experience managing large
complex network environments.
· Experience managing vendor-provided services including network
outsourcing arrangements
· Ability to build relationships, engage and influence others, work
with business units, architects, security peers and partners globally
· Proven interpersonal skills: collaboration and communications
skills (oral, written, presentation) with the ability to communicate
complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
· Demonstrated technical leadership and expert knowledge in data
network architecture and design
· Strong working knowledge of Cisco Systems routing/switching
equipment including the Nexus and Catalyst product lines and a broad
knowledge of networking technologies, protocols and services
*Must have Aruba Networking, Wireless, Aruba Clearpass experience (senior
level)*
· In-depth understanding of LAN and WAN architecture and
operations, including experience both with the technologies and working
with telecommunication service providers
· Knowledge and understanding of network security policies and
technologies (e.g. firewalls, IDS, IPS, NAC, content filtering etc). –
CISSP certification an asset
· Experience implementing and/or supporting large VOIP, video
and/or unified communications deployment using Cisco/Avaya/Nortel and
expertise in QoS and carrier technologies (MPLS, DWDM, etc.).
· Experience working within a structured process methodology
(especially ITIL)
· Strong operations efficiency orientation (process, costing etc.)
and ability to effectively manage ongoing operations within budget while
identifying opportunities for ongoing efficiency.
· Strong team player, achievement oriented; works well to establish
and maintain collaboration
· Ability to think strategically, assess alternatives for short and
long term impacts and act decisively
· Strong systems aptitude demonstrated project management and
planning skills; balances strategic skills with tactical execution skills.
· Function well within matrix management situations and under
dynamic mandates
· Global or multi-country operations experience an asset
