*EDI Specialist Overview*:
The *EDI Specialist *is responsible for enterprise level EDI Technology
contributing to the client’s success in the Plant Systems IT organization.
This is a hands on role as a key contributor in the design, rollout,
support, and enhancement of current and future EDI systems for both
customers and suppliers. This person will participate in the strategic
planning for future systems. He/she is expected to create clear, concise
and complete documentation for the architecture of current and future
systems.
EDI Specialist Job Responsibilities:
Technical leadership supporting the management of all assigned IT resources
used for EDI: machines and personnel.
A deep knowledge of EDI Technology, specifically Sterling Commerce’s
Gentran (5.2) system, GIS, and related software.
The ability to design and implement data movement systems in a complex
systems architecture.
EDI Development and Mapping

Transactions - 856, 830, 862, 856, 810, 820
ASN/Forecasting
Working with supplier/vendors
Working with business organizations and subject matter experts (including
customers and suppliers as appropriate) in order to gain a clear
understanding of existing plant processes and systems. Work to establish a
broad level of communications so that EDI requirements can be communicated
clearly in both directions and that the delivered systems meet all
requirements.
Work with IT Management to ensure all activities are consistent with
established IT standards and expectations. Monitor and track issues and
their resolution for all assigned areas of responsibility.
Work with Engineering, Business, and IT communities throughout the client’s
companies to identify opportunities for Kaizen improvements to existing
processes.
Maintain a positive working relationship with customer users, IT technical
staff and business/functional staff at all TBA affiliated companies
EDI Specialist Job Requirement:
Minimum 6 years IT experience.
Minimum 4 years experience with technical / functional EDI implementation
and support of manufacturing systems.
Minimum 4 years experience in the creation and maintenance of EDI document
maps.
Experience executing projects through Cross Functional project teams
Demonstrated experience completing large IT projects on-time and on-budget
Experience in the following areas a plus:
Experience in EDIfact or Oracle RLM
Experience implementing or supporting EDI in an Oracle environment across
multiple companies and locations.
Experience in the design and implementation of data movement in the
enterprise.
Experience with any form of secure FTP is a plus
