release contains several case management modules that are streamlined to

system, called the One Stop Operating System (OSOS) through a series of XML
based API’s on a weekly basis.

applications – a public facing web application used by the public to

.Net architecture, the BAM solution optimizes the distribution of hardware,
software, data and control, making appropriate information available to the
affected users and application across all phases of the project. All BAM
System data are stored in the Microsoft SQL Server Database Management
System. The Microsoft SQL Service engine is run on two servers while the
data is stored on the State of Michigan Storage Area Network. BAM has
interfaces to many outside systems, some real time, using MSMQ, others are
batch. The security for the BAM System is the State of Michigan Active
Directory (AD). The BAM System is hosted on the Microsoft Internet
Information Service (IIS) servers using the Microsoft .Net Framework. All
.Net objects, along with the client–facing Web pages are stored on the
Microsoft IIS servers. BAM is deployed using the COMET.NET solution
framework. The .NET architecture provides a set of robust facilities for
application development and is the programming model underlying developing
, deploying, and running Web services and applications for COMET. The .NET
common language runtime and class libraries are at the center of the .NET
Framework. The common language runtime manages memory, security, and
language integration. The State uses .NET common language runtime running
on Windows 2003 servers (servers will be upgraded to 2012 in the near

Duration: 6+Months

Develops security measures and policies for SQL Server to prevent
unauthorized access.
Recommends tools and resources to monitor SQL Server activity and provide
key statistics and performance measures.
Researches and evaluates new technologies to improve SQL Server
functionality.
Analyzes and troubleshoots problems related to SQL Server Environment.
Knowledge and experience with SQL Server 2005 or above.
Knowledge and experience with SQL Server connection protocols including
Kerberos and NLTM.
Deploy SSIS packages.
Creates triggers, stored procedures, and query optimization plans.
Creates normalized database objects.
Creates SQL Server maintenance plans for DR planning and business
continuity.
Installs SQL Server as per best practices.
Practical knowledge of SQL DBMS objects such as system databases and
recovery models.

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
Backup and restore methodologies.
Experience with failover clusters and load balancing and other high
availability strategies.
Experience troubleshooting bottle necks in SQL Server.
Knowledgeable/ experienced with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS. SSAS,
SSIS).
Skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE CLEARLY WITH THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM,
PROJECT STAFF, AND THE USER COMMUNITY.

*Job Title: SQL Server DBA (Lead/Train Jr. DBAs)
Location: Columbia, SC

*SQL Server 2000, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012
SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
Advanced skill sets for building and administering high availability
environments with load balancing.
Willingness to train Jr. DBAs*

Manages and maintains all production and non-production SQL Server
databases. Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage,
maintenance, access and security administration. Performs backup and
recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters,
and prototype designs against logical data models, defines data repository
requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements. This position
optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for
optimum configuration, database performance and cost. Will handle off hour
migration of database objects from test environment to production
environment.
