*6 Month Contract to hire – must be able to go perm (No H1B)* The Data Protection Engineer will oversee the day-to-day activities of managing TSM on the AIX platform in an enterprise environment. Specifically, need to understand and be able to perform all aspects of managing backup and recovery processes as well as performing restores to accommodate enterprise disaster recovery exercises and recovery of the TSM system itself. AIX knowledge is required to manage TSM on the AIX platform. The Data Protection Engineer will manage Data Domain and IBM Tape library environments. This person will assist the infrastructure team to provide support for storage, operating Systems, backups, databases, and virtualization solutions, while providing metrics that assist with improving IT Operations, stability across the data center and status updates to senior management. *V. Functions* - Support the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting and upgrades of all data protection systems or components - Work with the engineering teams to translate design requirements for data protection systems - Assist with the planning, execution, monitoring and control of all engineering project related tasks data protection, including Disaster Recovery - Provide technical support, troubleshooting and complex problem resolution on escalated issues while monitoring and maintaining environment stability - Assist with restores and data refreshes as necessary - Document software, system and environment configuration. *VI.
