Voice & Data Engineer Columbus, OH 8 months duration Candidate must interview in person and work in Columbus Ohio Monday thru Friday throughout the duration of the project Must be profession and have excellent communication skills The consultant position involves technical and intricate work with Cisco network switch and router products including the 6000 and 7000 line of equipment. The consultant will be responsible for continuing work on network virtualization and reallocation of communication lines. The consultant will also assist with the Core Project by setting up needed networks and assisting with storage area network (SAN) configuration with new Hitachi disk subsystems while providing continued support to network requirements for IBM storage systems. The consultant will work closely with Infrastructure and Operations team members to provide support, configuration and architectural assistance moving forward with the consolidation of networks and cost-saving initiatives with OIT. The consultant will assist in VoIP (Voice over IP) solutions as proposed by State-wide work groups and supported by OIT. This will include involvement at every level of network presence and architectural design work for BWC Service Office VoIP functionality. Other areas of responsibility in day-to-day support include physical cabling design, construction and installation, security work with colleagues in DMZ and restricted network support, wireless support, configuration and any potential upgrades, special needs (such as one-time use networks for internal or other customers), general network support and daily troubleshooting of issues arising due to down circuits, hardware or configuration issues.
