Position : SQL Developer
Location : Tacoma,WA
Duration : 6 Months
*Need GC or USC!*

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Model and develop databases and data structures to satisfy business
processes and technical requirements.
Solve complex requirements using expert-level SQL techniques such as window
functions, CTEs, CROSS APPLY statements, etc.
Incorporate appropriate tools, technologies, techniques and design patterns
to create maintainable, scalable, high-performance database solutions.
Use T-SQL and SQL Server Integration Services to develop enterprise-level
ETL processes that include process logging, data validation and data
integrity checks.
Design, implement and maintain code in development, test and production
environments. Design solutions to support systematic promotion between
environments.
Perform work of high difficulty in writing, modifying, tuning and debugging
database indexes, queries, stored procedures, views, user-defined functions
and other database entities.
Perform SQL Server administration activities including backup, restore,
DBCC commands and indexing.
Automate complex processes with SQL Agent jobs.
Design, develop and troubleshoot permissions schemas using advanced
security concepts such as proxies and impersonation.
Identify complex data patterns and inconsistencies through data analysis
and data mining.
Collaborate with project managers and business analysts to develop
solutions that meet client business requirements.
Take ownership of technical initiatives and drive them to completion.
Learn, use, and maintain an established set of tools and technologies, as
necessary.
Follow project specifications and corporate coding standards and policies.
Provide mentoring and coaching for junior and mid-level developers.
Lead and facilitate training, including informal internal training and new
employee training.
Manage code in a source control system.
Stay current with Microsoft SQL Server tools and technologies.
Assist with code reviews.
Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned
from time to time.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or
related field or relevant work experience
Ability to work well within deadline-oriented development structure
Ability to work well independently and within a team environment
Strong technical abilities and desire to learn new things
Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
skill, teamwork and customer service skills
Technical knowledge and experience requirements:
Proficiently use SQL Server Management Studio 2008 R2 and 2012
Write and maintain stored procedures and functions
Use aggregate functions in SQL
Create and maintain complex queries in SQL Server
Understand and use database schemas, tables, relationships, and constraints
Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot conversion packages using SQL Server
Business Intelligence Design Studio
Understand advanced performance enhancement techniques
Ability to write reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a
plus
Application development experience is a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents,
reports, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and
correspondence; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; and
ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group
situations to management and staff.  Ability to apply proper grammar,
spelling, punctuation, and format to typed material.  Must have excellent
oral and written communication skills.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as
probability and statistical inference; ability to compute discount,
interest, profit, loss, ratios and percents; and ability to draw and
interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve a wide range of practical problems and
deal with a variety of concrete and complex variables; ability to interpret
a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
form; and ability to deal with multiple variables.
