Hi,

Kindly let me know if you are comfortable on below position.

*Position: QA *

*Location: Ft. Worth, TX*

*Duration: 12 Month Contract*

*Job Description: *We are a small independent software development team
(currently 17 people) working on implementing and testing software to
support Positive Train Control (PTC) (a real-time messaging centric safety
system). We develop both server and client .NET applications as well as
ASP.NET and Silverlight web sites. We also develop embedded Linux software.

You will be working under the direction of our QA Manager; your job will be
to help select and then engage in the most effective activities that will
improve the quality of our software as much as possible in the shortest
amount of time. This includes designing and executing tests,
troubleshooting software problems, monitoring and maintaining lab
infrastructure, software configuration management, field support,
documenting software behavior with the assistance of a technical writer,
etc.

Much of your work will be manual testing at the user interface level. Our
group operates informally and with less documentation than we would like,
so often you will be required to help ferret out requirements and design
tests for them. Candidate must enjoy the challenge of a fast paced,
technically complex project. Our schedule is challenging but this is not a
death march. Overtime is not normal and unlikely and all the work is
expected to be completed at the office.

*Qualifications: *

*MUST Haves: DO NOT SUBMIT CANDIDATE WITHOUT THESE ! *

* Effective communicator (verbal and written)

* 7 years progressively responsible experience in software QA developing
and executing test plans and test cases

* Experience designing tests for and testing desktop applications (i.e.
client), and embedded systems

* Experience with Linux command line testing

* Experience and willingness to troubleshoot software/hardware problems

* Experience analyzing logs and capturing information for inclusion in bugs

* Experience with Windows simple system troubleshooting techniques

* Experience with configuration management and source code control

* Experience working in a semi-Agile environment

* Experience working in (and enjoys) a low process, medium documentation,
high productivity team

* Experience suggesting and implementing QA process improvements

* Experience and willingness to be a team player, working with and helping
other members of the team, and seeking their knowledge and assistance as
necessary.

* Candidate must be a dynamic self-starter who can excel with limited
direction – who wants to “take the ball and run with it” and make a big
contribution. We are not looking for a tester who just wants to run manual
or automated tests from requirements prepared by someone else. We need
someone who can plan testing (including researching of requirements or
other sources of information), design and execute tests, and report
results, with and without additional staff support, in order to make the
biggest improvement possible in software quality.

*The following experience is a plus: *

* Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and TFS

* Experience with SQL, especially MS-SQL

* Experience with PuTTY, WinSCP and Xterm

* Experience with Microsoft Test Manager (MTM)

* Experience developing automated tests in a Microsoft Windows environment

* Railroad experience

* Experience leading a small team and facilitating communication to mgmt.
