*Position:* *Unix Server Engineer* *Location:* *Hightstown, NJ* *Must be local as in person interviews are required*. No Skype allowed currently I need sharp people. *Description:* This role is responsible for implementing enterprise wide server and application standards as specified in solutions design package This includes: Installation and configuration of server OS and application platform technologies � evaluate installation and configuration documentation to ensure accuracy - work with Solutions Architects to update documentation to include all �As Built � specifications � testing, profiling and evaluating deployed infrastructure systems � create and update technical project documentation � provide Level 3 support of deployed systems and applications during warranty period. *5.* *KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:* � More than 8 years experiences installing and configuring Solaris and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server builds, both physical and virtual. � Implement complex network configurations on OS. � Experience with automating Virtual and Physical server builds using PXE and other deployment tools. � Experience with building and supporting Exadata and Oracle Supercluster environments. � Clear understanding of virtualization technologies such as Dynamic System Domains, LDoms, Zones, and VMware, and configuring guest Oss. � High Availability Clustering technologies such as Veritas Clustering Service (VCS) and SunCluster. � Scripting procedures related to pre-staging for server build out or replication using tools such as Shell and Perl. � Hands on Experience in managing / supporting VMWARE servers (hosts and guests). � A Minimum of 3 years of experience in automating the configurations and deployments using Puppet and/or Shell scripting. � Remote Server Management Technologies. � Understanding of IT infrastructure and components in a managed IP environment (VLANS, firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches). � Experience in proactive systems monitoring. � Identifying opportunities for and implementing process automation to improve the efficiency and reliability. � Perform basic investigative, troubleshooting, and triage procedures as part of on and off hour warranty support team � Provide management and support of technology migration across environments as part of the release process, including assurance of environment and environment documentation consistency � Provide product feedback to improve processes and functionality as well as identify and report bugs to development � Experience with tuning application environments to ensure optimal performance � Follow ITIL process for incidents, problem management and change managements processes. � Extensive experience with EMC SAN and NAS storage technologies � Self starter with desire to understand work and project objectives, not just execute � Strong problem-solving and analysis skills � Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly � Ability to self-manage time, constraints, in a high pressure, rapidly changing technical environment. � Possesses a good understanding of IT service management. � Strong communication and influencing skills, written and oral. � Interacts with and coordinates activities of cross-functional teams, including database administration, network engineering and project management staff. � Experience with hardware and software products that provide high availability and disaster recovery functionality such as load balancers and clustering � Strong analytical focus, results-oriented and execution driven, with the ability to align technology developments with the generation of potential competitive business advantage. � Technology competencies include high availability and disaster recovery configurations, hardware and software driven load balancing, clustering � Has a clear perspective on product technology integration and interconnectivity. � Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to identify learning opportunities, improve current processes. � Reporting and metric production and utilization to support strategic planning and decisions. � Effective communications and presentation delivery skills, especially to senior management on technology strategies and standards; able to create and maintain cross-segment relationships and foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and cooperation. � Bachelor in computer-related field or equivalent experience.
