*Role: Linux Administrator*
*Location: Atlanta, GA*
*Duration: Long Term Contract*

*Responsibilities*:
• Establishes Linux system by planning and executing the selection,
installation, configuration, and testing of PC and server hardware,
software, LAN and WAN networks, and Linux operating and system management
systems; defining system and operational policies and procedures.
• Maintains Linux system performance by performing system monitoring and
analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware,
software, networks and operating and system management systems; designing
and running Linux system load/stress testing.
• Secures Linux system by developing system access, monitoring, control,
and evaluation; establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and
procedures; completing back-ups; maintaining documentation.
• The ability to use intelligence, scripting, and tools to manage change
from development to testing to production environments.
• Linux Expertise, with solid System Administration skills
• Experience with shell scripting (bash or equivalent)
• Strong system/networking debugging skills
• Excellent verbal and written skills, along with outstanding customer
service skills
• Minimum 6 years related work experience

*Technical Competencies*:
• An ability to customize kernel run time parameters. Familiarity with
Linux performance measurement tools such as iostat, iptraf, tcpdump,
netstat, sar, nicstat, etc.
• Deep knowledge of TCP stack: ability to customize and analyze TCP at run
time. An ability to customize the Linux OS TCP parameters at run time. An
ability to answer questions on Linux TCP stack customizations
• Familiarity with performance measurement tools such as New Relic as well
as open source tools for the Linux OS
a. Perfect verbal communication skills
i. An ability to provide a solution on the fly and discuss it
b. Deep knowledge of the Linux OS
i. An ability to customize kernel run time parameters
ii. Familiarity with Linux performance measurement tools such as iostat,
iptraf, tcpdump, netstat, sar, nicstat, etc.
c. Deep knowledge of TCP stack
i. An ability to customize and analyze TCP at run time
