*Hope you are doing well, Please reply to ,* *shiv...@technocraftsol.com* <shiv...@technocraftsol.com> *Title: Unix Engineer* *Location:**San Francisco, CA* *Terms: 6+ Months* *Job Details:* *Principal Duties and Responsibilities:* · Senior UNIX/Linux (RHEL, CentOS) Engineer involved in system automation to improve efficiency & effectiveness of global cloud services. · Manage and collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to minimize system downtime with timely & appropriate communication to customers and EIS management. · Provide and promote quality customer support and services to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction. · Ensure Linux standards, processes, procedure, and best practices are efficient, effective, documented, and adhered to. · Actively participate in assigned business/EIS driven projects as a UNIX/Linux server representative. Provide subject matter expertise, contribution and execute to project plan,prioritize and categorize tasks, provide timely updates. · Work closely with EIS cross-functional teams to deliver optimal systems and solutions. · Maintain server lifecycle management with cost analysis, justification, and proposal with ROI. · Engage with business units to gather and document net new business system requirements, architect/design and obtain solution sign-off, and implement solution that meets established requirements and standards. *Technical Skills:* · Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience · 8+ years of working experience managing IT enterprise Linux/UNIX servers, Linux clusters & services · Solid & proven scripting skills using shell/Perlto automate processes. · Solid knowledge of system management, and methodologies specifically related to Linux-based operating system, networking/distributed computing environment concepts, and systems security. · Ability to problem solve quickly and ability to propose viable tactical & strategic options & solution · Excellent & proven skills in analyzing, designing, implementing and system integration. · Thorough understanding and work experience with disk Volume Managers, SSH, BIND DNS, NTP, VMWare and TCP/IP networking are a must.Proficient in using MS Officeand Visio for documentation. · Knowledge and/or experience with Apache httpd, PAM,SMTP, LDAP, Puppet, PKI,Oracle/Mysql database are a plus.
