*Role- Network Engineer* *Location-RENTON WA * *Duration- 6+ months* *Local Resource Required.* *Required* · Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline is required, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, OR Associate’s degree with 2 years experience OR Minimum 4 years IT experience. · Minimum of two (2) years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified, with at least one (1) year of Cisco or telephony experience in a 24x7 environment. · Juniper certification are desired for levels 1 – 2. Telecommunications related certifications and/or Low Voltage license highly desirable. · ITIL certification desired. *Description* · The Network Engineer is responsible for planning, designing and implementing new technology within the local and wide area infrastructure for all data, voice and telephony services. · The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. · In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization. · At its most senior level, this position has the responsibility to interface and ensure service delivery for Regional and Enterprise Providence Health and Services entities. · Develops relationships with regional customers so that IS/IT infrastructure services are provided according to regional business need with priority and special emphasis placed on production systems, production incidents and emergencies, regional projects and Enterprise-wide projects in this descending order of importance. · Has responsibility for the delivery, evaluation, implementation, and continuous improvement of these services system-wide. Provide critical technology infrastructure solutions and support to clinical and business functions such as: patient care, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, patient accounting, general accounting, materials management, payroll, and electronic communications within Providence Health System. · Analyze data traffic patterns within network infrastructure, detecting operational problems and recommending improvements to ensure optimal performance. · Engages in complex troubleshooting including running maintenance and recovery tasks; interpreting alarms and errors in the logs; and performing maintenance to correct problems. Develops detailed documentation for the purposes of expediting problem identification and resolution. Creates new network designs, assessing the network requirements for a solution, and suggesting recommendations aligned with the goals of the organization. · Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Manager or Sr. Manager. Assists in development and maintenance of standards, procedures and performance requirements for the enterprise infrastructure network environment and evaluating system designs, provides and implements recommendations to improve performance, productivity, functionality and decrease rework and duplication. · Participates in key process improvements for all network environments throughout the organization. Schedules installations, upgrades, configurations, and maintenance in accordance with established policies and performance levels. Provides input to policies, procedures and technologies (including firewalls) to ensure enterprise network security. · Assists in coordinatation of integrated systems integrity between users of Information Services and third party software vendors or programmers. Participates in the development and adherence to project schedules; in the design and review of new data, voice and/or telephony deployments. Defines and implements strategies for integrating data, voice and telephony technologies. · Coordinates with data network engineering, data center engineering, voice communication, and business application functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of the network to meet corporate objectives; and network device configuration and management.
