| Duties & Responsibilites : | -The individual will collaborate with product teams, operations personnel, project managers, engineering groups and strategic partners to design, implement and support infrastructure leveraging open source application server technologies such as JBoss and Tomcat.
-The role is also expected to perform automation of build and deployment activities using the Puppet scripting framework.
-This individual will provide technical leadership to a cross-functional team of developers, architects, and project management.
-Analysis of proposed application and infrastructure designs
-Analysis of problems in design, configuration, data flow, data state within a highly complex multi product provisioning system
-Assist with or lead efforts to build new application infrastructure coordinating efforts across teams as needed while tracking and reporting progress.
-Contribute to design, build and run phases of project life-cycle-Leverage existing Comcast tools to design and build monitoring and metrics dashboards
-Leverage existing automation infrastructure to create automation for routine application support tasks such as but not limited to build, deploy, update, restart, etc.
-Participate in a variety of meetings and status calls including projects, troubleshooting testing
Requirement Skills:
-B.S. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, MS preferred or equivalent work experience
-UNIX,J2EE,Linux,MySQL,JBOSS
Minimum Experience:
-5 years of direct support experience with accountability for availability
-5 years combined J2EE design and support/administration experience using JBoss/Tomcat
-1 year of dedicated focus on design and support/administration of JMS messaging platform is preferred-Understanding of Service Bus concepts and implementations-5 yrs combined development support of complex high volume transactional systems
-5 years of combined programming/scripting experience using Puppet, Java, Shell
-5 years integrating J2EE environments with monitoring platforms including the use of custom scripts
-3 Years development or support experience with Oracle and MySQL
-7 years of Linux or Unix experience, Linux preferred
-3 years XML messaging |
