Job Description
-The solution architect provides technical direction and consultation as a member of a development team in the e-Business group that builds cutting-edge discrete and responsive user interfaces for e-commerce and self-service websites that are integrated into the Sitecore CMS and back-end systems using ASP.NET (C#) and SQL Server.
- This role is also responsible for recommending and implementing improvements to the development tooling and processes to improve code quality and speed to market, which includes continuous integration.
-The e-Business technical organization is responsible for the on-going development of Client, My Account, Help  Support and the mirror sites serving business customers.
- These properties attract millions of visitors that are major contributers to the retention and growth of Comcast’ customer base.
-E-Business has application groups with a total of about eighteen Scrum teams that follow Agile best practices and work in two week sprints / releases.
-All applications are built on the same platform architecture and deploy releases every two weeks.
-This opening is on a team that will be desiging the next evolution in how e-Business architects its web applications.
-Its charter is to design a framework that will allow for the development of a shared library of UI components and media assets that may be consumed by applications built on the e-Business platform.
-The goal is to ultimately empower the business stakeholders to create and publish entire end-to-end online e-commerce experiences using “drag and drop” functionality within Sitecore.

Required Skills and Experience
- 10+ Years of Software Development experience using the Microsoft Stack.

- 7+ years architecting high-traffic, public-facing ASP.NET web applications for desktop and mobile devices
- 7+ year working with the full Microsoft technology stack (SQL Server, C#, WCF, ASP.NET) and associated IDE / tools (Visual Studio, TFS)
- 4+ years architecting / building web services and integrating web pages / components and back-end services with Sitecore
- 4+ years architecting / building with ASP.NET MVC 3.0 (or later) and Razor
- Expert knowledge and experience authoring standards  best practices for all layers of ASP.NET web applications (client-side, application, back-end service / data stores)
- Expert knowledge of MS development tools - Visual Studio / Team Foundation Server (TFS)
- Adept working with _javascript_ UI technologies - JQuery, AJAX and JSON (including the consumption of back-end / web service technologies – REST, XML)
- Experience and knowledge of front-end libraries and frameworks
- Thorough understanding of browser rendering and cross-browser support
- Experience working on a team in a large development group.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology framework and best practices
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines; extensive, directly-related experience may be considered in-lieu of degree(s).

Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects, developers and business stakeholders to design and enhance large scale, customer-facing web applications developed on the existing eBusiness platform framework, which is built on the Microsoft technology stack (ASP.NET/C#, SQL Server) with Sitecore CMS.
- Design a framework that allows for the development of a shared library of user interface (UI) components that may be used on multiple pages on applications built on the platform. The components will have centrally managed content (with Page Editor), have features that are integrated with back-end systems, render using MVC and be fully responsive (RWD).
- Create prototypes / proof of concepts (POCs) and architectures for concepts and technologies related to new features or opportunities to improve the velocity of development teams.
- Influence the architecture, technology strategy and implementation standards for the eBusiness platform as it relates to the use of Sitecore features.
- Stay aware and share current and future trends, technology and information related to Sitecore and front end technologies could provide value to development teams and the business users / stakeholders.
- Mentor team members in relevant technologies and implementation architecture. Educate members of development teams and perform code reviews.
- Collaborate with other members of a Scrum team that adopts Agile best practices.
- Work with front-end and back-end developers to analyze and optimize the performance of web pages.
- Help ensure work products are delivered on-schedule while complying with best practices and standards.
- Recommend /drive improvements to the development tooling and processes to improve code quality and speed to market, which includes continuous integration.
- Directly resolve or assist with addressing any issues / problems with development and production environments / tools.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
