*JOB SUMMARY*

The Systems Engineering contractor position is responsible for providing
support and administration of server lifecycle activities, specifically
including those activities related to the upgrade of servers running the
Windows 2003 Operating System to Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2012.





*JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*

   - Follow standard request processes for hardware acquisition, virtual
   server provisioning, and operating system imaging; project management,
   change management, and issues resolution.
   - Provide full life-cycle management for Windows servers and related
   system software.
   - Meet project deliverable expectations on a range of Windows server OS
   upgrade projects.
   - Communicate progress, issues, and best practices to management, leads,
   and teammates.



*JOB REQUIREMENTS*

*Education Requirements:*

   - A BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical
   field is preferred



*Experience Requirements:*

   - 3-5 years experience and/or familiarity with network,
   computing, storage, and mid-tier applications

*Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:*

   - Strong experience and knowledge of server hardware platforms and other
   system components
   (CPU, memory, disk and RAID configurations, clusters, storage area
   networks, and tape arrays)
   - Strong experience and knowledge of Windows Server operating systems
   and version differences (Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and
   Windows Server 2012)
   - Strong experience and knowledge of Windows Server roles, role
   services, features, and other components (IIS Web Server, SQL Server,
   Cluster Administrator, Network TCP/IP Properties)
   - Strong experience and knowledge of VMware virtualization platforms,
   concepts, and processes
   - Working knowledge of Active Directory, domain trusts, group policy,
   DFS, WINS, DNS, and DHCP
   - Working knowledge of firewall impacts on data flows and access to
   systems, services, and data
   - Working knowledge of load balancer/failover configurations applied to
   highly-available services
   - Ability to review infrastructure topology diagrams to understand
   multi-tier system architectures
   - Adequate working experience and knowledge of server performance and
   capacity planning tools
   (eHealth Performance Reporting, Performance Monitor, Task Manager,
   Windows Explorer, etc.)
   - General working knowledge of current and emerging server-related
   information technologies
