The future of transportation payment is in our hands – and it’s mobile and wireless. The successful candidate will design, implement, deploy and maintains high quality software for our Real-Time Passenger Information System. You will have an opportunity to extend knowledge gained to innovate and develop technologies for our RPIS solution and assist in training and knowledge transfer to new staff. We're looking for someone who can identify system problems before they happen and take initiative to proactively engineer solutions. *Responsibilities:* •Designs and Develops software components and applications. •Develops and executes test cases against unit releases. •Develops and executes regression test plans against software code releases to ensure that code corrections have not impaired previously validated areas. •Ensures that software defect states are accurately updated upon completion of verification tasks. •Maintains a high level of system knowledge. •Works with Operations, Customer Service, and possibly the Client to gather relevant data to determine product requirements. •Utilizes System Observations, System Logs, Database records and Test Lab reproduction to demonstrate clear understanding of the Issue. •Validates that new releases are ready for deployment and document the same for the Client. •Clarifies details of software release. •Demonstrates within the Test Lab environment any or all of the documented test results for the product owner and possibly the Client. •Works as part of a Scrum team and within Agile development methodology *Qualifications:* *Four year college degree in software or electrical engineering or computer science plus a minimum experience of five years developing Software as a Service or Enterprise Services Oriented Applications.* *Requires expert level knowledge with Java, RDBMS (PostgreSQL preferred), Networking, Unix/Linux and distributed systems with emphasis on backend server-side software development. * *RESTful API development expertise an excellent understanding of software development “best practices” and lifecycle issues (scalability, manageability and deploy ability) and test driven development frameworks (JUnit).* Strong Java *Enterprise (JEE) knowledge/skills (eg: EJBs, App Servers (JBoss, Spring, etc) and version control tools (Subversion, Git)* and Continuous Integration tools (Hudson/Jenkins). Strong scripting skills (Python, bash) and proficient in one or more additional languages such as: Perl, C/C++, Ruby, Scala. Experience working with shell scripts, JAVA, *Service Oriented Architecture and XML files.* Requires an excellent understanding of QA process and software development lifecycles.
