Role:                     Agile Project Manager

Length:                  6 months w/option for additional time

Location:               Washington, DC 

 

Overview:

Client is looking for an Agile Project Manager in the Washington DC area.  
The PM should have strong knowledge of release and change management experience 
is very beneficial.  

 

DESCRIPTION:

1.                   Must have 2+ years of Project Management experience in 
all aspects of system development w/ experience as Technical lead Developer, 
bringing your technical expertise to our application development and 
maintenance 
project including : 

o                  Must have Professional experience managing both waterfall 
and agile projects

o                  Project plans, Client business plans Client IT plans

o                  Team size no less than 5 people of varying skills and IT 
disciplines

2.                   Must have previous experince executing project plan: 
Execute 
the tasks as defined in the project plan in order to achieve the project goals. 


o                  Manage changes to project scope:Manage changes to the 
project 
scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification 
techniques 
in order to keep the project plan accurate, updated, reflective of authorized 
project changes as defined in the change management plan, and facilitate 
customer 
acceptance.

o                  Monitor and control project work: Measure project 
performance 
using appropriate tools and techniques in order to monitor the progress of 
the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required 
corrective 
actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.

o                  Communicate project plan: Ensure a common understanding 
by setting expectations in accordance with the Project Plan, in order to align 
the stakeholders and team members.

3.                   Establish project deliverables: Record detailed customer 
requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders in order to 
establish 
the project deliverables, using requirement-gathering techniques (e.g., 
planning 
sessions, brainstorming, focus groups) and the project charter. 

o                  Conduct kick-off meeting: Conduct a kick-off meeting with 
all key stakeholders in order to announce the start of the project and review 
the overall project plan and gain consensus.

o                  Implement approved actions: Implement the approved actions 
and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events in order to minimize 
the impact of the risks on the project.

o                  Develop project team: Improve team performance by building 
team cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, training, and motivating in order to 
facilitate cooperation, ensure project efficiency, and boost morale.

4.                   Must be able to interface effectively with all levels 
of the organization.

5.                   Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be strong 
and effective communicator.

6.                   Good writing skills and ability to multi task in the 
support 
of this project
