· Manage mapR cluster and associated services

· Applying mapR patches & upgrades

· troubleshoot & fix performance issues

· work with System Administrators in troubleshooting & fixing
hardware issues on big data cluster

· Continue growing our capacity as a product organization by
extending our mapR platform, continuous integration with other data
analytic tools, testing tools, and everything else

· In DevOps model, work with the development teams to design and
develop the features and functionality

· Continuously evolve our target platform including hardware,
configuration

· Make platform recommendations for  growth and performance
optimization

· Benchmark and improve Hadoop system performance

· Support performance tuning of big data processing and query
capabilities

· Scripting for automation and monitoring

· Production support, code migration

· Security management

· Ability to quickly learn new technologies, adapt to new
environments, and function within a team.

*Experience:*

§  5-7 years’ experience in IT Support team with operational experience

§  1-2 years experience managing mapR  file-systems and distributed
computing principles

§  2-3 years experience supporting databases and linux operating system
platform

§  1-2 years scripting & automation – shell or other language

§  SQL

§  3-4 years experience with the entire Software Development Lifecycle
(SDLC) Hands on experience with monitoring tools (preferably Omnibus,
Remedy, JIRA etc.)

§  Ability to quickly learn new technologies, adapt to new environments,
and function within a team.



*Desirable:*

§  experience supporting datawarehouse applications in OPS role working
with development team

§  Big data interactive query technologies such as Spark, Drill, Hive,
Sqoop, Zookepper

§  familiar with spark processing/Parka files and drill queries

§  Tools - UCD Express, mapR tools

§  NoSQL
