*Position : Database DBA (Oracle-SQL Both) * *Location : Houston, TX * *Duration : 12+ Months * *Interview: Phone / Skype (F2F if Locals ) Locals Highly Preferred * *I prefer them to be local, but if they have EVERYTHING I need (SQL Server, Oracle and Data guard)* *Candidates that are not local must have the following:* · 3+ years-SQL Server 2008-2012 DBA preferred · 3+ years -experience with configuring and managing Data Guard databases in 10g, 11g or 12c · 3+ years in SQL and PL/SQL scripting and tuning · 5+ years in Unix shell scripting Should interview onsite unless they have everything required above, and I mean everything *Job Description* · Sr DBA with 7 to 10 years- experience as an Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c and SQL 2008, 2012, production DBA on UNIX and Windows in a 24*7 environment s · 3+ years-SQL Server 2008-2012 DBA preferred · 3+ years -experience with configuring and managing Data Guard databases in 10g, 11g or 12c · 3+ years in SQL and PL/SQL scripting and tuning · 5+ years in Unix shell scripting · In depth knowledge of Oracle databases · Extensive experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting - drill down approach with O/S, database and application · Database backup and restore · Pro-active database management · Well-developed written and verbal communication skills is a must · BS Computer Science or equivalent degree · Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Preferred *Job Responsibilities* o This position will be responsible for supporting activities related to the design, development, and implementation for United’s complex Revenue Accounting databases and provide 24x7 production-supports for Oracle and SQL Server environments in HPUX, Solaris and Windows. o Responsibilities include working with Application and Production Support teams on supporting and implementing application changes, database enhancements, and database production support including incident, problem and change management, extensive troubleshooting, Oracle quarterly patch installs, Oracle and MS upgrades, running data-pump exports/imports to refresh data, backups and restores to refresh into non-production environments, working with distributed transactions via database links, and running daily data-fixes among many others. o Support during 24X7 during O/S monthly maintenance outages, etc. o This position will align with the portfolio application development teams to deliver best-in-class databases to achieve business goals.
