*Position Description*
*POSITION PURPOSE* -
The BI Developer has proficient knowledge of data warehousing and BI
technologies along with the ability to take business requirements and
develop the total technical design for an entire application to be run in
production. The BI Developer also has the ability to actively participate
in requirements definition and the aptitude to learn new technologies with
minimal direction.
*Required Qualifications:*
· Strong/expert knowledge of SQL and database development,
preferably on the Microsoft platform
· Knowledge of dimensional modeling and BI tool concepts as well as
how these are deployed and utilized within the organization, along with
hands-on experience with any of the common BI tool sets (MicroStrategy,
Business Objects, Cognos, Microsoft SSRS, etc.)
· Experience with large data volumes
· Experience with at least one ETL tool, preferably Microsoft SSIS
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment independently and as
part of a team.
· Strong attention to detail and high quality work
*MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES* -
Define, plan and implement solutions that range from creating or modifying
reports on existing data to integrating new data and creating new subject
areas.
Take business requirements and develop the total technical design on
moderately complex projects.
Participate in requirements and support queue prioritization.
· Effectively apply change control processes
· Participate in end-user communications, documentation preparation
and maintenance
· Provide first-line support, issue resolution, training and
coaching
Participate in 24x7 on call rotation.
*ESSENTIAL SKILLS*
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* -
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.
*YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE* - 7+
*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* -
· 7+ years of experience with BI/data warehouse development
· *Experience with any Data Integration tool (Informatica, WTX,
SSIS )*
· 7+ years of experience with *SQL database development*
· Technical aptitude, including the ability to understand detailed
technical information
· 5+ years related experience.
· Retail/business experience is a plus.
· BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
· Web development & analytics, Digital marketing, Supply Chain, and
Financial background all desirable
