Linux Kernel File Systems Developer

 

In this position you will be required to: 


• Utilize independent judgment in the maintenance and feature development of 
the file system.
• Perform file system feature design, development, testing, and analysis.
• Troubleshoot problems, create and apply patches for defect resolution.
• Inspection of patches submitted by peers and community members.
• Do technical presentations to peers and at conferences on feature work done.
• Assist in debugging support issues as required.
• Be able to work independently with a team distributed worldwide

 

Must have these key skills: 


• General understanding of the Linux journaling file systems (xfs, ext3, ext4)
• Familiar with both Kernel level File systems programming; File Systems in 
Userspace (FUSE/libfuse) programming as well as an understanding of WRAPFS
• Understanding of File System Extended Attributes (xattr)
• Programming Languages: C/C++

 

Highly desirable skills: 


• History of open source contribution.
• Java programming skills

·Familiar with distributions CentOS and/or Redhat Enterprise Linux
