Knowledge and experience with Oracle RAC Database Engineer Westerville, OH 18 months Overview: We are seeking a senior database engineer – expert level - to design/lead the migration from a centralized Oracle RAC database solution to a federated (or regional) cloud based solution using open source software. Responsibilities: • Design/lead future state distributed database solution to reside in the cloud • New design to be based on open source software such as NoSQL or MySQL or MongoDB. • Must support regional country business unit database requirements • Regional databases may be replicated to a centralized databased to BI and analytics • Define architectural guardrails for the new solution • Create/update data models for the future state solution • Lead roadmap development from the current centralized Oracle RAC system and execution for the migration • Work with customer and third party SMEs to understand business requirements • Direct completion of all appropriate documentation required by the customer IT managers • Participate in oral and written communications to validate the design • Work with infrastructure, project management, SME s and stakeholders to provide technical direction for design and migration • Adhere to and support internal client technical standards and processes • Function as focal point for workshop and design sessions Qualifications: • 8+ years of progressive experience as a database architect an infrastructure / technology architecture environment • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience in Data Architecture • Experience in database system migrations • Experience with cloud computing and databases in the cloud • Advanced knowledge of distributed, scalable systems database design • Advanced knowledge of open source database applications (such as NoSQL or MySQL or MongoDB) • Knowledge and experience with Oracle RAC • Knowledge of replication, backup, and disaster recovery design • Knowledge of system sizing, capacity planning and performance tuning, and storage and area network architecture • Understanding of technology infrastructure and server topology • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) • Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand • Knowledge of IT governance and operations Shalin Patel Sr. Technical Recruiter Cybersearch, Ltd 800 E.
