Prepare database scripts for the purpose of creating new Oracle tables, modifying the structure of existing tables, creating indexes, constraints, triggers, views, etc, code stored procedures and packages that perform various activities in the database, convert and migrate data to and from Oracle to and from various other formats. This includes the use of a database access tool, preferably Toad. . Use Visual Basic 6 and MS Office products to maintain and enhance existing applications using COM+, Crystal Reports, RDS and OLE Automation. . Use Microsoft Studio 2010 or higher and write code using VB.Net, C#.NET, JavaScript, Ajax, HTML, XML and WCF. . Use Team Foundation Server and Microsoft Visual Source Safe as a repository for the source code, for checking source code in and out, branching off new versions of the source code, and for tracking project work items and application defects. . Use various versions of Crystal Reports (from 8.5 to 13) to create new and enhance existing reports. . Provide proper detailed instructions for and work with the server group to migrate new versions of these applications to 3 platforms - Development, QA and Production, including the use of HP Service Center for preparing the change requests and following the standard rules and protocol for these migrations. . Use agile development practices - attend scrum meetings, sprint planning and review meetings, and code the desired functionality, based on "user stories", into the applications. . Mentor and assist a large number of other programmers, state workers and consultants alike, providing guidance in the areas of system architecture, debugging, trouble shooting, and solutions for various needs in the areas of securing applications, deploying applications onto servers, data access, data communications and system architecture configurations. . Participate in multi-agency technical meetings and work sessions to design and implement secure document and metadata transfers and storage processes. (Example: Transferring documents from the Public Safety Document Repository (PSDR) at DCJS to the SOMS database and document repository at OMH). . Implement and support state\federal initiatives under tight time frames. Skills Needed . 84 months Demonstrated experience in n-tier application development in Visual Basic 6, COM+, RDS, and OLE automation with Microsoft Word. . 84 months Demonstrated experience with VBA coding within Microsoft Access. . 84 months Demonstrated experience with Oracle: Database design, PL SQL coding, stored procedures, packages, indexes, triggers, creating tables, etc, including the use of a tool to write and test SQL code and manipulate data (such as Toad). . 84 months Demonstrated experience in Visual Basic.NET using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or higher to develop applications that utilize ASP.NET web forms and web services AS WELL AS client software that utilizes Windows forms. . 84 Months Demonstrated development experience with HTML, Javascript, and Cascading Style Sheets . 72 months Demonstrated experience designing Crystal Reports and invoking them from VB6 and .NET applications, as well as invoking reports in .NET from a managed Crystal Enterprise 10 Server or higher. . 60 Months Demonstrated experience developing InstallShield packages to distribute client software in an environment exceeding 1,000 workstations. . 48 Months Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server database design and T-SQL coding. . 36 months Demonstrated experience with projects involving data integration and communication between multiple business partners or agencies that deal in data covered under HIPAA. . 18 months Demonstrated experience developing web services using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) that utilize SSL certificate authentication between multiple enterprises or agencies. . 18 months Demonstrated experience working with and developing custom .NET applications that interface with Filenet document repositories. . 6 months Experience developing ASP.NET applications that interface with NYS Directory Services. .
