MSC is currently searching for a IT Security Specialist/Engineer experience
to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is
permanent, full-time, and it is on site in Bethesda/Rockville, MD.

The LHNCBC requires services of IT Security Specialist/Engineer who has
significant experience in enterprise IT security administration and
operation, vulnerability assessment and remediation.  This position reports
to the LHNCBC Office of Director and has the following duties:

• Conduct daily IT security administration and operation of LHNCBC’s
computing infrastructure including firewall management, vulnerability scan
and remediation, security audit, and other related IT support to ensure the
compliance of LHNCBC with security policies;
• Work with system administrators, developers and users to resolve IT
security issues;
• Investigate a security incident, if any and generate a forensic report;
• Coordinate annual penetration test and resolve all security concerns;
• Work with other technical members of NLM Security Committee and LHNCBC
Computing Resource Technical Committee to resolve technical matters in
general;
• Provide technical advice to LHNCBC managers.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of direct experiences in enterprise IT security;
• Minimum five (5) years of system administration and shell programming
experiences in Unix/Linux;
• Extensive hands-on experiences in large-scale firewall management
preferably on Cisco ASA firewall;
• Extensive experience in system and application security vulnerability
scan and remediation;
• Excellent analytical skills in debugging, tracking, fixing and preventing
security related issues.
• Good understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, multicasting;
• Ability to investigate a security incident;
• Demonstrated experience in a process-oriented working environment;
• Excellent time-management and organizing skills to accomplish tasks in
priority;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with people at
every level;
• Require a BS degree in Computer Science or other equivalent engineering
discipline from a reputable college;
• CCNP Security or CCIE Security certificate is desirable.

2.)    Why telnet is a security risk?

3.)    What is proxy firewall?

4.)    What is the differences between iptables and SELinux?

5.)    What’s the difference between su and sudo commands?

6.)    What is “buffer overflow attach”?



FYI: I was told from our in house Senior IT Consultant that they would
really like someone with strong Firewall Management experience.
