*POSITION PURPOSE*

Lead complex test projects and provide leadership and expertise to test
teams, including planning, leading, managing, and coordinating testing
activities. The candidate will perform a key role in implementing American
Airlines Merger related QA strategy and roadmap. Provide recommendations in
the planning and execution of testing initiatives through guidance to
multiple project teams across multiple departments (portfolios) and
applications; communicating up and down all levels of the organization.
Candidate must have STRONG QA qualities (lead qualities) with airline
experience being a huge plus.

*PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*

• Assesses risk to quality service based upon results of verification and
validation.
• Design and implement test strategy and develop estimates for complex test
projects
• Create and prioritize test cases for large/complex projects, including
identification of risks and dependencies
• Coordinate test case review sessions with business users and development
teams
• Report software defects; raises issues/concerns regarding issue
prioritization
• Coordinate activities of multiple teams, including but not limited to
development and project management
• Mentor testing team
• Conduct interviews; provide feedback and technical training
• Leads/participates in all phases of the IT Project Delivery Framework,
including review of complex business and functional requirements for area
of responsibility.
• Monitors adherence to established test standards and procedures.
• Lead efforts for continuous learning of client and customer operational
flow, use and interdependencies of data and products
• Responsible for verifying compliance with testing procedures and for test
strategy development.
• Leads QA Analyst team on specific activities: test planning, test
preparation and scripting, and test execution according to defined best
practices, standards and procedures established by the AA Quality
Management Office (QMO).
• Sets roadmaps, goals, and deliverables for QA across portfolios and
tracks.

*QUALIFICATIONS:*

• Undergraduate degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS/Engineering/Technology a related
field or equivalent experience and or training.
• 5+ years of experience as software lead testing/Quality Assurance
• Experienced user of testing tools (MS Visual Studio, Team System, QC,
Test Director, TFS, Mercury tools, SQL etc.)
• Strong software analysis skills
• Advanced understanding of Quality Management and “best practices” with
regard to testing techniques, methodologies, processes, tools, artifacts,
and measurement
• Thorough knowledge of software development lifecycles
• Advanced abilities with use of reference materials and other resources to
complete tasks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to
effectively facilitate meetings
• Strong customer service focus
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Advanced skill with Microsoft Office software
• Ability to effectively meet deadlines and prioritize projects in a
dynamic and fast-paced work environment
• Airline experience – a plus
