The Data Governance Group at is focused on accountabilities for
information-related processes, ensuring that they are executed according to
agreed-upon models which describe who can take what actions with what
information, when, under what circumstances, and using what methods. This
will be achieved primarily through post-project/production oversight and
monitoring, stakeholder interaction, and limited project delivery
engagement.
Early initiatives of the Data Governance Group will focus on the following
components within the Data Warehouse environments and may expand to other
data areas over time:
- Educational Documentation and Metadata;
- Data Quality;
- Master Data Management;
- Data Access;
- Data Storage and Retention;
- General Business Support
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
- Data Quality Reporting
- Managing Data Security through creating and correcting Oracle Roles
- Monitoring Data Usage and helping end users with support
- Programming (data querying via *Oracle SQL* as part of triage and
investigation)
- Metadata extraction and creation
- Understanding of database design and ETL processes
- Providing Training with new Metadata Repository tool *Erwin Web Portal*
