*Description:*

The customer’s SCM/Software Engineering plays an integral role in
implementing and executing source code management processes. The role
supports customer’s Engineering Excellence Program by managing source code
management system, automating builds, regression testing, building tools
and monitoring used in software deployments.



*Experience Required:*

·        Overall IT experience of 8+ years.

·        Excellent communication skills required.

·        At least 4 years experience in software configuration management,
source code management, software engineering, and release engineering

·        Strong familiarity with TFS 2012/13/15 and GIT  version control
systems as software configuration management and SCLM tools preferred

·        Experience in supporting software development, builds and
configuration management using msbuild, Nant, or similar tools

·        Programming knowledge with exposure to Visual Studio IDEs and .NET
environments, Java and Websphere

·        Proficient in MS Build and/or Urban Code Deploy for automated
Build-Release processes

·        Extensive  Knowledge in various branching/merging strategies,
methodologies and release procedures

·        Skill with one or more scripting languages, powershell, perl, PHP
and Python experience highly desired

·        Experience with build automation tools

·        Experience in strategizing and automating release and build
processes



*Technical/Functional Skills:*

·        Responsible for Planning, developing, executing and supporting
Organization’s software development lifecycle from the point of developer
check-in through production deployment
·        Serve as the technical champion for SCM/Software Engineering
practices across the organization, providing coaching, mentoring, and
technical support for Engineering Excellence collaboratively
·        Support/ improve the  Organization’s SCM tool(s) for continuous
build, automated testing,  continuous integration
·        Own, manage and improve source code management process. Focus on
scale and efficiency
·        Configure SCM tools, to support project setup and process
improvements
·        Participate in the improvement, documentation, communication and
enforcement of configuration engineering processes for software
applications
·        Maintaining the version control system (branching model,
security), creation and maintenance of build definitions scripts, and the
setup of work item areas and iterations

Day-to-day monitoring and troubleshooting of jobs, problems and performance
issues in Hadoop clusters.

Day-to-day operation activities including, incidents, problem and change
management.

Investigate and characterize non-trivial performance issues in various
environments.

Troubleshoot and resolve Hadoop Ecosystem issues including Hive, Hbase,
Spark, Pig, Scoop, Storm, Mysql and Kafka.

Work with other IT and data management teams to evaluate their Hadoop use
cases, provide feedback and design guidance.

Work with Real Time application teams who communicate to Hadoop clusters
and suggest recommendation and provide solutions on tomcat, solr, elastic
search.

Ready to learn new technologies and improve cross skills within team.



*Must have :*



Ability to self-learn new languages and technologies, ideal candidate is a
curious, problem-solving, autodidactic polyglot

•  Linux Administration and Engineering

•  Experience in designing, implementing and administering highly available
Hadoop clusters

•  Experience working with MapR vendor ecosystems

•  Knowledge of capacity planning, management, and troubleshooting for
HDFS, YARN/MapReduce, Hive, Pig and HBase

•  Understanding of network concepts and experience managing host level
network services

•  Background with common automation tools. StackIQ is plus.

•  Background with a higher level scripting language, such as Perl, Python,
Shell.
