*Position: Network Engineer* *Location: Dallas, TX* *Must be Green card or US Citizen in Dallas * Responsible for providing level 1 – 3 expertise in the planning, designing, implementing, maintenance, troubleshooting and hardening of firewalls, routers and switches. Responsible for implementing complex, secure networks on a case by case basis that revolves around the technology needs of the business. You will be working primarily with Palo Alto, Checkpoint and Cisco infrastructure. Additional experience with load balancers, network monitoring and Telco carrier support is required. The successful engineer will possess a strong understanding of network protocols, security vulnerabilities, web application attacks, and cyber-hacking techniques. A thorough understanding of how applications communicate over the network and when firewalls perform Network Address Translation, .1x security, Port Address Translation, and mapped IP addressing is required. Candidate must have experience in an enterprise production environment with multiple geographically dispersed sites and assist in building out new sites. *Duties will include, but are not limited to:* - Maintain and administer Palo Alto Firewalls - Maintain and administer Checkpoint Firewalls - Maintain and administer Cisco ASA and PIX firewalls - Maintain and administer Cisco wide area routers - Maintain and administer Cisco Nexus Core Network and 6500/Catalyst access/edge Network - Maintain and administer F5 load balancers - Maintain and administer Aruba Clearpass NAC and wireless infrastructure - Maintain and administer Data Center power and cooling systems - Assist in the delivery of all Unified Communication and Network Infrastructure projects - Support of local and long distance carrier circuits, configuration, Quality of Service and routing - Support of SIP, CTI and IP Telephony - Monitor overall network performance, identifying poor quality lines, underutilized circuits, cost reduction initiatives, upgrade needs and service improvement opportunities - Maintain current documentation for all voice and data network systems using standard templates including cable systems, equipment inventory, spares, and floor plans - Communicate frequently and effectively with all levels of internal customers; continuously applies quality improvement methodologies to improve these work processes - Analyze user-generated trouble tickets to determine cause of reported problems and take appropriate action for resolution - Assist in the support, management and day to day operations of the corporate firewall and network infrastructure, including 24x7 on-call support - Execute hardware and software life-cycle management policies and procedures as it relates to the voice and data Network to meet business needs - After-hours remote support on a 24x7 basis is required *Ideal candidate will have:* *The ideal candidate would have several of the following certifications:* · ACE (Palo Alto Accredited Configuration Engineer) · PCNSE6 (Palo Alto Certified Network Security Engineer) · CCSE (Checkpoint Certified System Engineer) · CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional) · CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) *The ideal candidate would have strong working knowledge in the following areas:* · Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco PIX, ASA firewall technologies · Cisco Routing and Switching technologies · A thorough understanding of network routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, etc. and how to support them through and on Firewalls · Able to develop test plans and test cases, tools and infrastructure to improve quality and efficiency of perimeter security and defense · Identify configuration or policy flaws and gaps that increase risk or violate information security requirements · Proxy experience · Site to Site VPN design experience · Experience with anti-threat sandboxing solutions · Experience with IPS/IDS technologies · SIEM tool work experience (Qradar, Splunk.
