Brooksource is searching for a mid-level Java Developer to join a small
Application Development team where they will be asked to make an immediate
impact by adding to/developing new software for our client’s flagship
product. This individual will be focusing on a client server application
that increases communication and control between operator and machine
(HMI). The Java Developer will work alongside both technical and functional
individuals to create solutions that meet and exceed the business
requirements. This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity as our client is
looking to add this Java Developer to their team for the future.
The applicant should have 4+ years of experience performing both front and
back-end Java development. In addition, the applicant should have a proven
track record with specific examples of being an independent and quick
learner. The Java Developer should demonstrate problem solving skills as
well as the ability to speak with clients using business terms. They should
be able to work well independently with minimal guidance as well as in team
settings. Good communication skills are a must.
*Technical Skills Include:*
· *Specific Front-end UI development skills:*
o Strong Javascript
o Strong CSS
o Strong jQuery
o Backbone experience is preferred
· *Back-end Java development skills:*
o IDE experience (Eclispe, STS, or IntelliJ)
o Strong Dependency Injection (for example, Spring)
o Strong ORM Database experience (JPA experience preferred)
o OSGi experience preferred
o GIS experience a plus
· *Experience in the following considered a plus:*
o Linux Development
o Understanding of Communication and Networking protocols.
o Development of proprietary communication protocols
o VPN experience a plus
