Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. Responsibilities include: database loading; development and management of operational procedures; environment management; database health (e.g. monitoring, proactive and reactive responses); resource planning; database upgrade planning; backup and recovery strategy planning and implementation; environment transition planning (development, test, stage, production). *Specific Job Description:* The selected candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) working with other DBAs and engineers/developers where knowledge sharing is a priority. Primary responsibilities include but not limited to: · Review of current Oracle operations and maintenance (O&M) practices/procedures · Recommendations for best practice improvements · Review of current hardware and infrastructure running Oracle & providing planning guidance for technology refresh · Evaluate opportunity to expand utilization of the Oracle Enterprise tools set · Help plan and execute rhythmic Oracle patching and version upgrades · End to End application performance tuning (data layer as well as working with other teams to improve/optimize overall application performance) · Supporting new application deployment by installing & configuring Oracle Qualified candidates will have demonstrated experience as database administrator for very large Oracle database(s) in a high demand/high transaction volume environment, supporting Windows- and Linux-based systems, and experience tuning Oracle 11 Enterprise. In addition, demonstrated experience in the development, tuning and debugging of clustered database servers, stored procedures, triggers and backup recovery procedures. Significant experience working with various Microsoft Server Operating Systems and virtualized environments is also preferred. *Required Skills:* * * - Proven experience with application performance tuning using Oracle Enterprise tools - Experience in a CM driven environment with Oracle patches & version updates - Oracle RAC/DataGuard - Oracle backup and recovery (RMAN) - Strong analytical and problem solving skills - Strong ability to lead and work independently and within a team environment *Desired Skills:* - Experience with Oracle on multiple platforms Windows/Unix/Linux environments - Strong scripting skills: Unix and SQL Plus - Experience with web services development and integration - Understanding of project management methodologies - Experience providing technical support and training to architecture staff - Good communication skills (Verbal & Written) - Experience with Microsoft Operating systems, SQL, and virtualized environments *Client Job Level Qualifications:* Typical minimum experience requirements include Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
