1 year contract
This position will serve as both the team Scrum Master, as well as the
primary planning, analysis and communications contact with the business
area. As such, this position will coordinate application maintenance
requests and work closely with the AMS manager to direct the team in
analyzing, estimating, scheduling and planning requested work, as well as
managing technical work requests and assisting other team members. This
position should have experience in the following technologies: J2EE,
PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, and Oracle DBMS.
Required Tasks:
• Serve as the DSL/O3 team lead, Business Analyst and Scrum Master
• Work with the Application Maintenance Services (AMS) Manager to provide
day-to-day work operations oversight and coordination for the team
• Document business and program requirements and specifications for
application work requests
• Research and document requirements of program users
• Ensure work assignments are assigned to the appropriate team member (s)
and that service levels are met
• Work with the AMS manager to modify and enforce existing team policies,
standards, processes and procedures
• Assist the manager in monitoring teams work load and performance
• Develop and continually assess for improvement workflow and
communications processes
• Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines
and ensure they are being developed.
• Working with network administrators, systems analysts and software
engineers to assist in resolving problems with applications.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
• 3+ years' experience leading technical development teams
• Knowledge of Information Systems Development Methodologies (ISDM)
• Experience with Agile development practices, specifically SCRUM and
Kanban.
• Experience in executing work according to standard IT project management
practices
• Ability to be creative, to use sound judgment, and to display foresight
to identify potential problems and design/specifications and assigned
application software systems
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
others.
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work
assignments
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
• 3+ years' experience in Java Frameworks such as Struts/Tiles, Struts 2,
Servlets/JSP, JPA/Hibernate
• 3+ years' experience in XML, HTML and CSS
• 3+ years' experience with Oracle Forms and PL/SQL
• Experience using Subversion and Maven 2 and/or 3
• Knowledge of database security, including role-based security
• Knowledge and experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML)
• Experience with database query tools (i.e., TOAD, SQL Developer, SQL
Navigator)
• Knowledge of relational and object-oriented database designs
• Knowledge of object-oriented design methodologies
• Familiarity with environmental regulatory business processes and
practices.
• Knowledge and understanding of DEP's technical environment.
