Supervise and manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of
systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based. Plan and
monitor the optimizing of system operation and resource utilization, and
perform systems capacity analysis and planning. Plan and monitor assistance
to users in accessing and using business systems. Administer, manage and
optimize the Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage devices.
Ensure security, reliability and scalability of current solution. Implement
a strategy to integrate the ECN/DCN storage solutions in order to maximize
storage across the enterprise. Establish and maintain a data backup
framework that complies with the data retention requirements. Administer
backup software, disk to disk, and disk to tape backup. Install appropriate
software and programs to create, track and report on backup data;
maintaining a log of backup activities via the online access Database
located on the Master Backup server. Conduct annual backup tests to ensure
tapes are not corruptible and are usable during a contingency of operations
or disaster. Administer, manage and optimize the Storage Area Networks and
Network Attached Storage devices.
Ensure security, reliability and scalability of current solution. Implement
a strategy to integrate the ECN/DCN storage solutions in order to maximize
storage across the enterprise. Provide Tier-3 technical support for service
and incident requests escalated from the Enterprise Service Desk. Complete
resolution by the specified times as identified in the SLA. Maintain a
detailed and accurate on-line documentation of all policies, procedures,
configuration, infrastructure which supports the enterprise storage
solution. Documentation and procedures shall comply with DOL CSH
requirements. Create, update, Administer and maintain NAS VM environment.
Develop and maintain server VM SNAP as needed for backup. Monitoring
storage equipment for failed components, Coordinating with storage vendors
to replace failed components, Monitor storage performance and troubleshoot
as needed, Work with stakeholders 49 to allocate disk space. Configure disk
storage for the performance requirements required for applications such as
database and file sharing. Implement Access control; Ensure access to
storage is controlled and not available to unauthorized hosts. Configure
and maintain SAN switches. Monitor disk space and project when more disk
space may be required. Monitor and Resolve storage shortages. Subject
Matter Experts (SMEs) shall serve as the Department’s Enterprise-wide
Directory Service (EWDS) and Applications domain primary points of contact
and liaison with the DOL agencies.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in administering
infrastructure Support to mainframe and/or client server systems at the
enterprise level
A minimum of five (5) years of experience with Enterprise Data Services,
experience Administering Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012, 5+ years of
experience with BixFix (IBM) tools and Windows Systems Center Configuration
Manager (SCCM)
A minimum of five (5) years administering storage consolidation and backups
A minimum of three (3) years of experience with Remedy and Citrix
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
PMI PMP certification
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Windows Server 2012
At a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering,
Mathematics, Systems Engineering, or related field
