6+monthsRate : : $55/-hr on C2CJob Description:-*Maintain structure,
tables, access to and efficient operation of one or more large or complex
databases in use for systems or applications in current use by clients,
business units, developers, or corporate offices.
Confer with application development staff or project management staff
regarding project planning, resource allocation, task definitions and
schedules for substantial projects involving database(s).
Manage the warehouse environment in which a database functions by testing
or restoring data, code builds, capacity planning, and assessing systems
interfaces.
Develop and document database models, data dictionaries, data flow diagrams
for use by developers or database users.
Confer on troubleshooting problems of database(s) in production.
Assess root causes for bug or production problem, or provide technical
input to developers or less senior DBAs.
Use specific software utilities and tools to tune, troubleshoot, or refine
database(s) and make their operation more efficient. Become familiar with
these tools and instruct others in their use.
Design and create dataase schema scripts (DDL), deploy schema build
scripts, maintain database baselines, support application requirements,
testing and implementations. Must follow all migration policies and
processes.
Strong skill set in PL/SQL and NZ SQL development; ability to analyze and
provide recommendation for performance tuning.
Analyze and resolve, or recommend solutions to highly complex technical
problems such as performance issues, integration of object-oriented
relational database technology, data quality issues.
Participate in modeling initiatives (object, logical), data analysis and
application of corporate standards.
Create sound database physical design models from object or logical models.
Prepare status reports to accurately communicate progress; provide early
notification of problems that could effect schedules, or the integrity or
availability of data.
Netezza DBA experience including building objects and maintaining all
environments.
Relational database concepts, relational logical modeling, best practices,
and physical design experience.
NZ SQL development experience.
Object concepts, object modeling, and translation of object model to
relational design.
Unix operating system experience including shell scripting and file
management.
Excellent project management, oral and written communication, negotiation,
presentation and influencing skills.
Hands on development/admin experience in Netezza.
