Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Job Description:
Ø Supervises all changes and additions to data repository change requested
by application development teams.
Ø Assumes overall responsibility for the management of assigned database
products with 24 hour emergency technical support.
Ø Evaluates corporate-wide system to improve system performance and
functionality.
Ø Performs maintenance tasks on existing test and production environments
that includes modifying database sizes, migrating changes through various
environments.
Ø Designs, tests, and implements back up, recovery and restart procedures
for assigned databases; monitors and assures DASD requirements and problem
resolution. Associates degree OR equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years as a
database administrator.
Responsible for handling all aspects of certain Oracle Applications such as:
Ø Oracle
Ø Oracle PL/SQL
Ø Oracle Reports
Ø Oracle Business Projects
PL/SQL programmer:
Ø Know the different types of exceptions and be able to name the predefined
ones.
Ø Be able to explain and give an example of an outer join.
Ø Have used packages, procedures and functions and be able to explain the
difference. (You have this one.)
Ø Be able to describe how to use the various types of collections.
Ø Understand triggers.
For Oracle Reports:
Ø Know the built-in triggers.
Ø Know the different column types.
Ø Know how to debug queries in a report.
