Successful candidates will have 7+ years of experience in the architecture, design and development of multi-tiered client/server software systems. We are seeking a highly talented, experienced, and self-motivated developer capable of writing high quality and high performing software. This person should be a self-starter and strong team contributor. Candidates should have an excellent understanding of full-life cycle software development in an object oriented, use case driven environment. Experience with the Rational Unified Process or Agile methodologies is a big plus. To qualify for this position, candidates must have the following qualifications: - BS/BA in a computer science or related field or equivalent experience. - Expert level skills in Java and object-relational data persistence combined with a deep database understanding. - Must be well versed in UML and object oriented development principles. - Experience with graphics (Java 2D or 3D). - Experience with Hibernate, JPA and Oracle. - Experience with rich client development in Swing. - Experience with HTML5/JavaScript; frameworks such as AngularJS is a big plus. - Experience with J2EE, particularly RESTful services (RESTEasy, Jackson and JBoss/WildFly a plus). Additional desired qualifications include the following: - Experience with laboratory instrument integration, including using OPC. - Intermediate knowledge of SQL and stored procedures, preferably PL-SQL. - Junit, Karma, Jasmine or other automated testing frameworks. - Experience with Perforce or other source control. - Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment tools (such as Ant, Bamboo). - Java 2D graphics, experience with third party charting tools (Monarch Charts, D3) is a plus. - Experience working in the biotech industry and with LIMS systems.
