*Position: Java Developer*
*Location: Omaha, Nebraska*
*Duration: 6+ months, could be extended further*
*Job Description:*
The developer will need to become familiar and understand the product
requirements and be able to provide timing and sizing estimates for the
effort, and implement the enhancements.
Must be a team player with excellent communication skills.
Able to quickly decipher and understand new customer requests, estimate and
deliver in a timely manner.
Experience in an agile development environment is a plus.
Must be committed to delivering quality code and customer satisfaction.
*Required Skills/Experience:*
- 5+ solid years experience with *Java*
- 3+ solid years experience with *web application*/service
implementations
- Strong knowledge of* JSP, Javascript, Servlets, CSS and XML*
- Design and implementation of objects
- Spring application context framework or other frameworks
- *SOAP-based web services*
- Knowledge of *JQuery, JAXB, SOAPUI *will be a plus
- Ability to craft object models and provide implementable solutions
- *Strong in writing SQL*
- Strong understating of* Database management systems*
- Strong knowledge of application servers like *WebSphere and/or Tomcat
will be a plus*
- Strong analytical skills
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
- Understand the functional capabilities, interfaces, and considerations
of the Power Net application. (Distribution industry a plus)
- Create technical specifications from customer requirements and provide
estimates to code changes to application.
- Debug application and correct. Documenting coding changes.
- Conduct testing of work and produce, quality timely deliverables.
- Provide timing and sizing estimates to implement recommended design,
and present it to team for review.
- Implement solution design.
*Education:*
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or
related field, or appropriate technical training and/or equivalent job
