FAAZ Consulting is Looking for Oracle DBA/SME with Oracle 11G and/or 12C
experience, experience with rack/performance tuning, large database
experience (~10 terabytes) for one of its clients in Tech sector. This is a
12 month plus contract and will be subject to extensions based on
performance. Only GC holders and Citizens are eligible to apply due to
federal security clearance needs.
-BS/BA (or the equivalent) plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant work
experience
-Working with medium to large databases (Oracle 9i, 10g, 11g and/or 12c) in
a UNIX, Linux and/or Windows environment
-Provide support for Oracle Database Management System (DBMS) version 11
and 12c, Oracle utilities and Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c.
-Administer Oracle Databases configured with Oracle Real Application
Clusters (RAC) and Oracle Data Guard
-Perform ongoing assessment of database performance and identification of
problem areas using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Toad, and or sql code
and scripts.
-Perform and execute database backup and recovery procedures using Oracle
Recovery Manager (RMAN) and Veritas NetBackup.
-Perform Oracle installations, upgrades, administer CPU/PSU patching and
other administrative core DBA functions.
-Working with database tuning and maintenance, experience in data modeling
and database development and experience with UNIX Shell scripting when
required.
-Proficiency with SQL and PL/SQL
-Oracle HA configurations including Real Application Clusters (RAC),
Veritas and Data Guard.
-Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) backup and recovery procedures.
-OEM Grid Control to perform enterprise level monitoring and administration
procedures.
-Proficiency in installing, configuring, administering, and using current &
emerging database tools, strategies, & technologies
-Have experience in, and provide support, advice and process development on
Oracle Database architecture in the 10+ terabyte size range.
-Assist in determining configurations, reconfiguring present
misconfigurations, deploying, and efficiently loading data into an Oracle
Database infrastructure.
-Assist in developing a data archive strategy and implementing an archiving
process.
-Develop a capacity monitoring and planning process.
-Assist in upgrading an Oracle 11 to Oracle 12c DBMS.
-Implement processes to monitor performance of the Oracle DBMS.
-Assist in analyzing application database design, tuning queries and
providing performance improvements solutions.
-Provide support for Oracle Enterprise Manager: assist in designing,
configuring and deploying a disaster recovery solution; assist in
implementing security baseline controls (STIG); assist in documenting and
implementing automated patching.
-Assist in research for items such as Exadata, database appliances, Very
Large Databases, Real Application Cluster (RAC), Automatic Storage
Management (ASM), Automatic Storage Management Cluster File System (ACFS),
Oracle GoldenGate 11 and 12c, etc.
-Must be a U. S. citizen or have lawful permanent resident status
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in system engineering.
-Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
-Ability to pass state and federal background investigation.
-ORACLE (CERTIFIED) in Oracle DBMS Versions 11g and 12c
-Security+ Certification
