month contract for Data Modeler with Erwin. Healthcare preferred, can sit
in Rochester or Buffalo, NY*
This individual will build data models that describe data and its
relationships in a consistent way to support business and technical
objectives. They will provide model support for but not limited to the
Business Intelligence (BI), Data Warehouse (DW), and Integration Data Store
(IDS) environments. They will assure all models aligned with Enterprise
Information & Data Strategy. The individual will help support the DDL build
and migration process for multiple environments.
Update the data model (currently in ERWin, familiarity with other tools a
plus)
Generate standards compatible DDL
Test DDL in personal schema
Act as DBA in the development oracle instance - run the DDL when requested
Validate DDL was correctly deployed by the build to each environment
Do complete compares between ERWin model and the DB to check
tables/indexes/constraints
Schema Compare using standard tooling for items not handled by erwin
(grants, synonyms, items created outside of erwin)
Update the data dictionary for release changes
Prepare list of Index/Constraint for a release - for test team
Create PDFs of subject areas in release
Create table to subject area cross walk
Publish data dictionary, pdfs & cross walk to wiki
Check all work into CVS
Attend dev team meetings to coordinate Data Modeling work with Dev team
Participate in tech spec reviews
Geometry Manage the model - no crossed lines, no overlapping tables
Logical to Business name translation according to Excellus Data Governance
Standard Excellent PL/SQL skills are required. 4+ years relevant
experience, this will be used to perform analysis and data extracts,
validate and test DDL deployment and development and optimize table models
for query performance. Optimization skillsets are a plus.
Data Modeling 3 - 10 years - logical/physical models, normalization,
abstraction, surrogate keys, and how to physically model a many to many
relationship, generate, deploy, test related DML, DDL Used to tak
Used to take a set of requirements in relation to a project and build a
standards conformed data model that can be leveraged in a performing way
across environments.
Healthcare experience (preferably a healthcare payer) 3+ years.
